Trikonasana on the waterfront! Victoria B.C. |
After graduating from the 500-Hour Naada Yoga Teacher Training program (Montreal) in 2014, I returned to Toronto and created Savaka Yoga.
Savaka is an ancient Pali word meaning "one who hears". Savaka Yoga is a gentle yet challenging blend of hatha yoga, therapeutics, flow and meditation. It's the practice of listening deeply - to our bodies, our minds and ourselves - as we cultivate strength, stability, balance and flexibility.
It's incredible to feel at ease within your body, attuned to the present moment. As a teacher, my goal is to facilitate this experience for my students. I've studied with teachers all over the world from traditions as diverse as Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Anusara, Iyengar and Scaravelli yoga. I share these experiences, and my knowledge of biomechanics and anatomy, to provide a safe and compassionate learning environment.
Yoga has helped me recover from the stresses and injuries of a professional music career. Yoga studios have been my refuge and positive spaces of shared community. May Savaka Yoga be a seaworthy vessel for your personal journey to health, happiness and peace.
I currently offer small group and private yoga classes at my home studio in the Homewood area of Toronto. Classes are capped at 5 participants to allow for individual attention. Please note that I no longer offer home visits or teach at other yoga studios. Contact me at phoebeviolin[at]yahoo[dot]ca for more information and registration.
